Edward Berdoe (1836 – 1916) was a physician during the Crimean and American Civil Wars, educated in England and Scotland. He was also an authority on the poet Robert Browning,[1] and has been credited with writing the novel St. Bernard’s. The romance of a medical student by Aesculapius Scalpel, which went into a second edition in 1888.[2]
