Károly Zágonyi, (Leuchtenburg, Hungary, (now Seini, Romania) October 19, 1822 – 1867?) known in the U.S as Charles Zagonyi, was a Hungarian military officer who served in the American Civil War as an aide to John C. Frémont and commander of his bodyguard.

On October 25, 1861, during the Battle of Springfield, Zagonyi with 300 mounted men charged into Springfield, Missouri, routing the Confederates holding the town and occupying it for the Union. He then withdrew, but Fremont occupied the town again. Zagonyi was sidelined after Fremont was removed from command.
