The 53rd Regiment Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry was an infantry regiment that served in the Union Army during the American Civil War.
Service[]
The 53rd Wisconsin was organized at Madison, Wisconsin and mustered into Federal service between March and April 1865.
The regiment was amalagamated into the 51st Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment June 10, 1865.

The 53rd Wisconsin suffered 8 enlisted men who died of disease, for a total of 8 fatalities.[1]
